Rainbow Snippets--Easter Rain

After two years of low precipitation in my corner of the world, we seem to be making up for it. Or at least, we've got a good start. I always heard "rain on Easter means rain for the next 7 Sundays." I guess I should keep track and see if it happens this year! This week's snippet is the opening paragraph from a current WIP, Cut Sho t . I migh t have used a local bar as inspiration for the Short Stop, which is a recurring setting in the book. Jedidiah could feel the man’s gaze as if it was a physical thing. There was weight to it, a lowering of air pressure, a buzz behind his ears. He bent over the pool table and studied the balls, doing his best to not turn and stare back. If he bent over more than he normally would when lining up a shot, curious if he would get a reaction, there was no one else to notice.
