Rainbow Snippets*-- Season's Blessings

Too much to do, too little time! It takes the joy out of the season. The only day I'll have off is tomorrow, and I'm going to spend it driving to get my daughter. Don't get me wrong--I'll be glad to see her! I just wish I had one more day to finish things up. I miss enjoying Christmas.

This week's snippet comes from Fall Out, the third of the Headphones series. Because a snowstorm has closed airports and made driving dangerous, none of The House members were able to travel home:

Christmas morning started out with people popping in and out of the kitchen, drinking pot after pot of coffee before the wine made an appearance--for “cooking purposes”, of course. It surprised no one when more of it ended up in glasses than in pans. Calls were made home to wish missed families a Merry Christmas and presents were exchanged, some by the tree in the living room, some privately behind closed doors. The mistletoe hanging in the doorway between the living room and lounge got a good workout throughout the day, this being a first Christmas for everyone in The House in one way or another. The bad weather began to feel like a good thing.
