Rainbow Snippets*-- Telling March Goodbye
The one good thing this week-- Spring is here!
The Headphones series is full of tropes-- the other woman (but which one is actually the other woman?), friends with benefits, m/m slow burn, and age difference, which is Jessie (aka Headphones) and Mick's trope. I'm not sure that's what I intended all those years ago, but sometimes the story goes where it wants to go! So here is a little slice of Jessie and Mick:
She’d quit moving. Why had Headphones quit moving? The girl-who-knows-everything but-never-talks had apparently become the girl-who-knows-everything but-never-shuts-up, even when she was straddling her boyfriend. Mick had lost track of what she was saying, his attention fully on what she was doing until she froze.
“Are you listening
to me?” she asked.
“Uh, no? You kind
of have me distracted,” he sputtered.
Her face lit up as
she shrugged her shoulders. “Fair enough.”
