Rainbow Snippets*--Another Month Gone!

We went from hot weather to cool overnight. Which means for the next few days I'll spend less time outside in the pool and more time inside writing and editing. (At least in theory.) I did make some progress on my Fangs book this week, and I'm close to hitting my editing goals, so I'd consider this past week a win.

It's County Fair Time!

Conclussion This week's snippet is from Fall Out, the third book of the Headphones trilogy. There are flashbacks throughout the series, and this selection is one of Mick's. In his younger days, he was known as Micky and was the lead singer of a successful British band. Joey played lead guitar and was Mick's best friend. The flashback takes place in 1999 and is the morning after a wild party to celebrate Joey's birthday: (part one here, part two here):

“Gore, my head!” Joey said, but smiled at the same time. “Cheers, mate. That was genius!”
Micky found a pair of pants and pulled them on, not caring who they belonged to. He hoped no one was bunked in the bathroom because he needed a slash and a shower. Hopefully, hot steam would clear his sinuses. He feared if he snuffled he’d get a kick from any residual powder still lurking in his nostrils. It had happened before and he didn’t feel up to it right at the moment, although it would maybe cure his headache. “I’m surprised we’re both still alive.”
Joey laughed as he turned onto his side and reached for the nearest body, running his hand over the woman’s ass and between her thighs, which elicited a small moan and giggle from her. She rolled off her stomach, pressing her full butt against his erection. “Micky, love, don’t ‘cha know we’re going to live forever?”
