Rainbow Snippets*— Bisexual Awareness Month Featuring Fangs for Everything

It's Bisexual Awareness month, and to celebrate I'm going to snip from my books with bisexual characters. I should have started at the first of the month, but there was traveling, accompanied by Covid. 1 star. I do not recommend! Hopefully, my life is going to become more routine once again. 


Snipping from Fangs for Everything

Young Rollie doesn't know that Alex is a vampire, and as things heat up, Alex is "explaining" some medical conditions that affect him sexually, as it's their first time being intimate. But Rollie misunderstands and things almost end before they begin. Told from Alex's POV:  

 “You’ve done this before, right?” [Rollie asked.] Again, there was that embarrassed flush. 
 “Had sex? It’s been a while, but I had a girlfriend when I was younger. So, yes?” And that wasn’t a lie, or even the truth stretched. 
 Rollie stiffened. “Wait! I thought…” He frowned, his thick eyebrows drawing together, and there was an edge of anger in the curve of his lips. He stood and moved the four steps to the opposite side of the room.
 “Rollie, what–?” 
 “I’m such a fool.” He lifted one hand to wipe at his face, and although I didn’t see any tears, there was an added luminance to his eyes. “You’re not even gay.”
 His reaction bewildered me. “I… I’m bi, I suppose. I’ve never labeled it.” What vampire did? We might have preferences, but over time, the desire to feed caused those to fade.

Rainbow Snippets*—Time for a Break

I knew this summer was going to be a challenge, and I wasn't wrong. I've had too many irons in the fire and it's felt like everything has gone a little sideways. No major disasters, but enough to feel like it's two steps forward, a step-and-a-half back. I got home from the Rainbow Readers Cruise last weekend—which was wonderful, by the way—but as per the new normal, I tested positive for Covid. Rainbow Snippets*–A Little Ramble

January found me in a writing slump. Like Cracks in the Sidewalk had been released into the wild, and I'd finished my Headphones Vella. I have a list of "what's next" but somehow I've been in a holding pattern. A big part of that is my day job situation. The business I work for sold, so I'm in the same building, looking at the same walls, but I have new bosses with different ways of doing things–including a new grocery supplier and new computer system I have to learn. If new challenges keep our brains young, mine will regress to teenagehood soon!  I'm so ready for spring to get here! I need leaves and flowers!  One of my new projects is editing an older manuscript and publishing it on Vella with the hope that it'll be the incitive I need to finish the second part of the story. July Camp NaNo

This WIP is killing me. I suppose 5 years ago when I started this journey, I would have been thrilled to write a novel in 4 months. Now? Not so much. I have to remind myself that I really am limited on time and I did stop to write a short story in the middle of all of this. But I've stalled...terribly. I can't seem to just write the story. I write and then I edit. Hell, I'm editing  as  I write. I started this novel as my April Camp project (totally expecting to finish it in May, and when that didn't happen, in June) and I'm determined to finish it by the end of July. I did manage almost 2000 words over the weekend, bringing me to over 35500, and I finally got past the scene that's been killing me for two weeks. Fingers crossed, it's going to go more smoothly now!
