Rainbow Snippets*–More from Delicious
I’d kept Hanson’s niece and nephew busy while he worked by stirring up cookie dough after a quick trip to the grocery store I’d passed the day before, letting them loose with a rolling pin and the few cookie cutters I had. As I’d unpacked boxes, they’d squirted colored icing out of piping tubes, making a complete mess, but laughing the entire time. I’d taken a few pictures and edited them late into the evening, close-ups not of perfect cookies, but of the memories created when baking is shared. Originally, I’d planned on a cookbook full of refined recipes, pastries that could grace a high-dollar bakery. But that idea had shifted. I wanted easy recipes that families could make together. Fun and bright without having to hunt for specialty ingredients or equipment. Now, to get Annabelle on board.
